This house was designed for a sloping, wooded site. The topography allowed for grade level walkouts at the Main and Lower Levels. The exterior materials were kept simple and chosen to blend with the surroundings. Siding is a stained board and batten above a brick foundation; roofing is heavy cedar shakes with copper metalwork. The broad three foot overhangs offer protection from the elements as well as creating a strong visual sense of protection. Ease of access and mobility are provided with an elevator, wide doorways and a gentle 16 riser stair.

The Main Level of 2,200 feet of finished space contains a Foyer with a skylight which opens to the raised ceiling Living Room with its skylight washed fireplace, which is on a direct axis to the tall windowed piano bay and a view of the woods beyond. The Dining Room opens to the Living Room and Breakfast Room/Kitchen with large cased openings and the Kitchen door leads to an on grade brick terrace. A Powder Room, Laundry/Mudroom and Master Bedroom with Bath comprise the balance of this level. The Garage is accessed from this level.

The Lower Level of 1,600 feet of finished space contains an in law suite with a Sitting Room with a private brick terrace, Kitchenette, 2 Bedrooms, a Bath and an Exercise Room.
